About badkat

badkat started this conversation

My husband and I are on disability, and we have 3 kids.  We are behind on bills, plus we can never afford enough food or gas for the entire month.  We are allowed to go to the local food pantry once a month, which is some help, but my youngest son needs to be taken to his dads every couple weeks, and thats about a 160 mile drive, both ways, on friday and the sunday he comes home.  We would like to be able to move because our rent is high because they raised it since weve moved in 2 years ago, but we cant afford to move.  I have tried going back to work, but with my disability, it's pretty much impossible.  Anyone who could help my family would be blessed.

hi badkat just wanted to say there is a program called arreage management program (AMP) it's utility co. that forgive over due bills and help low income customers manage their utility expenses. every investor-owned utility in mass. is required to by law to offer an arrear management program. i say mass. because right now i just heard of it myself. but i'm sure where you live you caould get the same. i am checking it out first thing tomorrow. if you go to energy assistance programs you will get an application and get applied. let me know  what they say.
